I don't know if it's just me, but I had a go at simple crate stacking as seen in the 'Eavesdropping' mission above, but I cannot mantel or jump onto the shed roof. It seems to me like there's an invisible wall/ceiling there stopping me. I also took a running jump with speed potion and tried to get over the perimeter wall, but it seems there's an invisible wall there.
I've often seen people on here saying about how they've managed to get into hard-to-reach places by careful crate stacking and using rope arrows, but in all my OMs there seem to be invisible walls and ceilings. Why can you guys achieve greater heights and I can't?
BTW, I am using an officially patched Premier Collection version of Thief 2 and now with the modified EXE and ddfix.

And don't forget this: (

It is one of the funniest things I've ever read in my life. I have read it over 20 times so far and it still makes me laugh.

I've since read there is a wall around much of the area that prevents you climbing out, I must have just been lucky the first time so if you can find the area I did then you should be able to repeat it.
I can't help for the shed roof, it is a bit awkward mantling something which is diagonal but if you really struggle then you could gather more crates to get all the way up without needing to mantle. I think the roof needs to be quite low compared to the last crate, Garratt doesn't seem to like reaching up to mantle a diagonal surface.
I'm not sure how to record and upload videos for thief, any suggestions?

Some of the level may have been scrapped when they hit the brush limit. This might also have been the reason to nuke Whatshisname's Keep (the bastion top leading to the arsenal) in the final game, they needed the resources for the lower levels of Angelwatch.

I didn't know there was a limit to the level...is it an arbitary one? I suppose modern computers can cope with a lot more.
The demo is more difficult in that there are a lot more drops and gaps between buildings requiring a lot of jumping and mantling. The final level in the actual game seems to have pushed most buildings together, you very rarely have to make a life threatening jump to get anywhere.

Yes I am, and almost no one ever spots this! :D

Dromed has hard and non-negotiable limits on the number of terrain brushes you can place in a map. There can be a maximum of approximately 4000 before the editor refuses to compile the level. (There are also other restrictions I will not go into here.) There are workarounds, but they are usually more trouble than they are worth. In T1, levels generally don't reach the brush limit. In T2, the larger ones do.
On the other hand, I've just checked the mission file for LotP, and it is well below the limits at 3235 terrain brushes, so we can discard the "they hit the limits" theory. It was a voluntary design decision.

Interesting..a few weeks ago I made a similar trip in ambushed to the cemetery. But I used a rope arrow in the window trim on the same small tower you used.
