when trying to play it, thief returns to desktop
opening it in dromed( via darkloader (4.3)) I get a errormessage:
PCX decompression error, xpixel:126(File: pcx.cpp, Line: 133
(yes to trap, bla, bla bla) and offcourse back to desktop again
Sorry, but I never got any error message in Darkloader - I still have 4.2 version on my computer - maybe that's the cause... ?

opening the mis.file in dromed, it starts but then everything is jorge and white wedges ( didn't you use ány standerd stuff???)
Yeah, as Nielsen said - you have to manually copy all the rest of content of the archive into Thief2 folder to get all resources in game.
Except few objects and AI, there's no original stuff - my goal was to make everything from scratch. Now, you've got the answer why this mission won't be finished in Dromed... ;)

to be more specific:
I tried to open it in dromed via darkloader. my darkloader uses a diff. install of thief. I understood that the missions were darkloader ready, so I presume i don't have to manualy put all the objects/ textures etc in my thieffolder
I did have darkloader 4.2, that didn't work, so I got darkloader 4.3 and tried it again, same result.
@nielsen:about choosing cancel... what ever i try, I get back to the desktop.
I wouldn't know what format I would have to convert them to so that dromed likes them better:confused:

Did you mess with darkinst.cfg to change where it looks for resources?
If you did, you'll have to make sure the resources for this FM are in one of the locations that you specified in the .cfg file.
If you didn't, make sure the FM has been extracted to the same folder as Dromed.exe
nightshifter on 20/10/2006 at 10:26
no, no messing around.
I have one install of thief that I only use for darkoader/playing fm's
all fm's run fine there. (allso via that dromed)
this is the one I'm using for this "fm"
the other thief install is for dromed/builidng my own fm only.
(@R.Soul: btw, your garrett stand-in is doing fine :thumb: )

You're right - you should be able to play it via Darkloader. Manual installation is necessary only if you want to put it in another install of Thief. If you want to open it this way, I would recommend moving temporarily your custom fam and obj folders to not mix with mine... Well, it sounds like a bit more work to do... :erm: I actually have no idea why it doesn't want to work... I have to try Darkloader 4.3 to see what will happen on my computer.
BTW: when I was preparing maps from TG and T2 for polish translation edition, I encountered some problem with PCX files - it looked like version conflict. (Photoshop and ProMotion had problems with some of them). But all the textures in klasztor.zip are converted using Bright 183 which is common texture tool succesfully used with Thief...

I had no trouble with it using DarkLoader 4.3.

This just doenst seem like the original Thief missions, this is something different. Its good to have old Dromed and the modders, this is the best community. :sniff: :thumb:

True, but I played the demo and it was awful. I couldn't stand an entire game like that.
Believe me - you wont miss anything. :)
I played it through because I wanted to see what the engine can do, when we started, and I started to play it in god mode, because it was so boring.
Digital Nightfall on 4/12/2006 at 00:53
So, who's gotten started finishing these two FMs?
Hrrm?
Don't make me grab someone and order them to do it, because you know I will.
;)

No one is supposed to finish them, PinkDot is planing to redo them in a new editor. We're just supposed to use the resources and look at the missions as samples/demos.
