I've always seen my Thief 4 being a mix between the previous Thief's, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
Where we have a guy, who is somehow descendent of Garrett, and is decked out in the latest taffing tech. Where he has to deal with sophisticated camreas, cops, and guns, and other cool lazor gizmos. And he has his stuff too, like, I dont know, but i'm sure he has cool thief stuff.
Night vision, or like a grappling hook shooter, and a SD .22, devices that disable electronic things, and this old weathered black jack he found somewhere; like in a gutter or in an old basement.
*end childlike ranting*
Likely to happen? Impossible. Just something I'd always imagine seeing.
That is, Unless Splinter Cell has a modding community.

erm...I am missing where Thief ties into this. It just sounds like a beefed-up Splinter Cell.
Unfortunately, after reading this thread I am scarred for life.

I have to agree, there could NOT be decent Thief series game in the modern or futuristic world, it's Thief because it's ancient times, not where people can simply click a light switch to expose a thief.

I've always had a vision of thief crossed with Jungle Hunt. Mechanists in tu-tu's and spears, Garret swinging from rope arrows through a mechanical jungle and swimming through spider infested water all in the name of saving princess "Dew drop".......
OMG... did I just mock a newbie??
