Mystery on the way up the elevator to Maggie Chow's apt.,... - by R.E.Stone

I noticed that on the elevator to Maggie Chow's apartment that you don't have to close the elevator doors to activate the elevator. I tried it and went back up only to discover that there's a doorway to a hidden apartment, and now I want to get in (probably 'Thief' residue in my brain)!! How do I stop the elevator at that level? I think it's the apartment of the lady doctor mentioned in the note on the desk in the lobby, you know, the one where her loyalty to the People's Republic is questioned by an aparatchik. If you've been in there, just tell me how to get in, I want to see what's there for myself.

Have you noticed there is another lift on the lift lobby? ;)

The first time I played, I also thought that doorway went to the doctor's apartment.
But then, as posted above, I noticed that it matches the out-of-service door on the level reached by the other lift.
The doctor story is local color to let you know what kind of person Maggie Chow is.

OK, so what's the point of the hidden area above the hallway in front of the lift across the street from the hotel?
You know the one I'm talking about, with the skull in it...
or maybe it's nothing. :D

I've asked that question myself. I think it has to do with providing a way to get out if you do something with the elevator and end up on top of it, so you don't get stuck in the game.

So anyway, did anybody manage to get in there?

So do you think TechImmortal just know this without going there?

I'm completely confused by your post.
I found it out by going there, if that's what you mean. Just the way you said in your post - by using the other lift.

Sounded to me like you were guessing what that locked entrance's level was inside the building. I've been on both lifts, but only the one on the right (facing the doors in the lobby area) took me past the mentioned doors, which seem to me to be about at the third floor level. Aside from that I know that there's a service lift and a ladderway, along with an entire related maintenance access zone which goes between the gated area at the end of the alley off of Tonnochi Road to the roof/helipad area above Maggie Chow's living room. I never saw an equivalent entrance from there. So... what? Did I miss something?

El_esquirrel, TechImmortal has alfready told you his experience, the doorway in the elevator shaft of the elevator to Maggie Chow's apartment is
the out-of-service door on the level reached by the other lift. Sorry no other hidden area there. <IMG SRC="wot.gif" border="0">
