The original poster of that quote doesn't advocate the use of language? ;)

I found out today in my old icelandic course at the university, that Gamall is old icelandic and means old. ;)

I always wondered about the names.
Does anyone have an idea if these names were picked for particular reasons? i.e. historically accurate (I've heard somewhere that Thief was roughly based on Tudorian England), or just randomly?
I have a certain feeling about the names, they seem to be a mix of old-world and modern, but still retaining their uniqueness.
I'm enquiring because I'm working on a fanfiction project with someone and to preserve the Thief tradition, I need to know how in-game character names are given in order to keep up the umm, 'flavor', so to speak.

Many seem to run through their RTTC. Too busy running off zombies to forget the Hammerite Dewey, Louie and Huey aka Brothers Murus, Martello and Renault. And there is that Eye, ofcourse.

As for the Baron's name, I think
a Baron's name is mentioned in Thief 3, but there's no way of knowing if it's the name of the
current Baron or one of his predecessors.
This what you're talking about?

Farkus... oh, someone remembered him last page. It wasn't on that expansive list someone linked to, tho. o_O

Yeah, sorry about omitting Farkus, everybody. I don't know how that happened, as Farkus and "Farkus Functionals" were never really forgotten. My only theory is that since he was a character in a little fanfic a friend and I collaborated on, I subconciously believed I'd already mentioned him. Nothing evil about it.
