I'll have to wait for a free weekend. Considering how worthless the NS1 playerbase had gotten by the time I'd finally had a chance to play, I'm skittish about spending $35 (!?) I don't have on a shithead magnet.

Ditto. I played probably a dozen games or so of NS1 and I only had a fun experience once.

NS1 was amazing for a while. I have fond memories of epic battles raging back and forth as the nearly defeated marine's trecked around the map clad in HeavyArmour with the commander having to drop a new command post and spawn point every few mins when the aliens found and destroyed the last one.
V1.4 was unbalanced though, due to the jetpack rush pretty much always winning. Then V2.0 lost a lot of the charm and feel of the origional. I *liked* the way the aliens could block of lifts and doors with huge quantities of alien buildings, it had a nice feel to it. It wasn't like the marines couldn't just siege them out anyway.
Have to see how the sequel turns out.

I have a natural selection 2 steam key to give away.
Most of my friends already have it, so if you are up for some marines on aliens action, pm me your steam account or email adress.
Regards, Mothra
PS: only 10 days until dishonored :D

Is it actually close to release now?
mothra on 3/10/2012 at 17:29
I guess so. They polished alot during the last updates, only thing remaining is ironing out the extreme loading times for maps.
And although I played alot of ns1 I can confidently say I suck at ns2 :D
But the community is pretty forgiving and helpful - atm.
We will see how it turns out when the floodgates get opened and ppl are confused why they have to request ammo.
