Looks to be promising, hope it's fun. Supposedly out any day now... it's been submitted to Apple and it has to go through their whole mess that is the App Store review process.

If the price is right (low) I will probably check it out. Lovecraft based games garner my attention anyway.
The trailer doesn't do much for me though. It seems lacking in the audio department, the voice is OK, even if a bit rushed, but the music and sound effects are too clear and happy for the setting. Especially the music suffers from a cheap synthesizer sound.

(
http://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/necronomicon/id399858907?mt=8) It's released.
Bought it (indeed $1.99). It's very much a game of chance, less so of strategy.
The initial card game allows for some strategic planning: Which bonus-, ally- or enemy card is best placed where.
The second game, a board game, exploring the university, is more about finding the antidotes against the nasty situations before randomly stumbling upon them.
The third and final game is a dice battle, seeing who looses their hit points first..
Game play wise there's not much more to it. Luckily the art and sound make up some.
The art is beautifully rendered though very static. Some 3D cutscenes are present, those are OK. (strangely enough, before each animation you'll get queried whether you'll want to see it, instead of just following the convention of just starting the thing and providing a skip option..)
I'd be very much surprised if the sound in the game and in the trailer were done by the same person. The game features a small set of well done ominous sounds, whispers/voices, church organ, whistling wind, that fit the setting very well.
Note that the current version is rumored to feature some bugs, though I didn't encounter any.
My verdict:
If you're into Lovecraft, the game is OK.
Wait for the inevitable price drop to $0.99 (or perhaps even the promotional giveaway).
