Need a better video card to play TDM? I might have what you need. - by New Horizon

So, I bought a video card for myself back in 2006, it's an XFX, Geforce 6800 XTreme. It has 256mb of DDR3, and is for the older AGP 8X slot. Nothing fancy by today's standards, but it ran TDM fine for me. It requires a minimum 500 Watt power supply as you have to plug in an adapter to give the card some extra power, all cables included obviously.
When I bought it, I went with a cheap power supply since the card was around $165. Being self employed, it took me months to save up for it. The power supply blew within a week, and since I had spent all my extra cash to buy both pieces of equipment I never did save up enough to send the busted power supply back. So, the card has been packed away in the box for the last 5 years.
If it would help someone out who has an older system, but one that could handle the card...I would be happy to hook them up with it.
Private message me if you're interested and we can talk details. Ideally, I would like to help a taffer who has wanted to play TDM but can't, but I am happy to let it go to any good home. :)

It is nice to see someone willing to do this.
The biggest potential issue for people would be their power supply. Most pre-built systems come with the cheapest, crappiest, lowest wattage PSU the manufacturer can get away with. For your target audience (p4/Athlon 64 systems), I'll bet most of them don't have more than 400 watts.

Well, I figure if they're getting a free video card...(minus shipping of course)...then that should free up some resources for a PSU. ;)
