Found a copy of FEAR 2 for like 28 bucks...thinking that's a pretty good deal. What were your reactions to the game? Critics seem lukewarm...I love Condemned and liked the first FEAR so it seems like a good bet...How's the story in the second one?

Exactly the same.
The whole game is basically the same, except with more console.

I rather enjoyed FEAR 2's story for the most part. While it didn't feel as tight as the original's, it was significantly darker in tone (reminded me of the expansions actually) and the ending would make Gainax proud.

Assassin's Creed is terribly boring. Don't waste your time.
I would say Dead Rising, but people either love it or hate it. Personally I love it and the sequel is coming out soon.
The Orange Box if you've never played the Half Life games.
GTA 4 is good if you like those and it's got two DLC expansions.

Having a lot of fun with Alone in the Dark, very good imho. Sadly very flawed as well, but then again also very cheap.

i really like cryostasis. flawed in the movement/shooting mechanics but high on story, mood and atmosphere. got it cheap from gamersgate and it got no DRM as Eva pointed out.

Last time I tried it didn't work on the 360 yet. but I'm sure there's a list somewhere that tells you which classic xbox games work on the 360.
In any case I highly reccommend Oddworld: Strangers Wrath.

Stay away from FEAR2, it's shit.

Unfortunately, Stranger's Wrath still isn't backwards-compatible.
I see no-one's mentioned Fable 2 yet. While it's not the same flavour as a lot of the stuff people are recommending, it's still a fantastic game.

Fallout 3 + all the DLC expansions. Enough to keep you busy for months.
