I have a quick question: Is there any difference between the CD - and DVD- rom versions of this game? Things like extra levels or bonus material?
Any answer's greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I just realized this section of the forum might be wrong for my question...

The CD version was released mainly in America, the DVD (as far as I'm aware) was initially released in europe. I don't think there is really any difference between them other than maybe the covers (although you may have the patch available on it now).

But the patch is available for download anyway, right? And if I get the DVD-version, I may skip the annoyance of fumbling about with 4+ cd's?

I have a similar question - I hope you don't mind that I post it here, as it'd be a waste to make a whole new thread for it.
Is there a difference btween the Thief 3 DVD (which is what I'm playing) and the xbox game (besides the obvious, like game controls and graphics). Anything that affects the story line? I rented Thief 3 for xbox, but in trying to get T:DP and T:MA to instal on my computer (again) I came across the DVD. I never got far enough with the xbox to tell.

Besides the obvious (lower resolution textures), not much is different. There is a bug in the XBOX version that can't be fixed though. When you save your game and reload it, the difficulty will automatically be reset to Easy. This was in the PC version too, but the 1.1 patch fixes it. With the XBOX version, there is no fix.
However, no story differences.

Alright - thank you. I've already ordered Thief for Xbox, and I can't wait for it to arrive:cool:

I need a quick answer too, so i'll ask here...
The Fishy monsters, down in the place where i need to find the Glyph key, why do some of them die when i throw down oil flasks?
Do they not like oil?

never had that one, you sure they're dead? try saving, going up to the body and stabbing it, see if it sighs and lets go of some blood. If thats so then its just knocked out.

Ha, you can kill the
silly dudes, with cages on their heads, in the Cradle, using vials of oil too! :wot: Just throw one at them and they fall down dead!
They really shouldn't be there. They're spoiling the atmosphere. I thought the Cradle was about things that appear when you least expect them to. I'm not impressed with the Cradle so far. :p Don't get me wrong, the level and sound design are ace but as for it being scary? No comment!
