Interestingly enough, there is still a copy of Thief Gold at the EB Games near me. I'd get it, but I already have a copy and haven't felt the urge to pick up a second copy
There's a copy of Thief 2 at my local EB Games. It's been sitting on the shelf for the last 3 years. I feel bad everytime I go in there and see it. It's only $10. I consider getting it everytime I walk in, even though I already have a copy.

Well considering you can get the double-pack of Thief 1 and 2 for less than 10 dollars, that would be a spectacularly bad purchase.
Unless you guys genuinely don't have budget re-releases over there, in which case... um, you have my sympathies, I guess.

In the uk, there is no way you would see original thief games on the shelves - let alone thief gold :( The only way I managed to get that was through ebay.

In Australia, I saw it in the store while browsing, it had only just come out that week, it was the last copy, I bought it, and have never seen a single box other than mine ever since... anywhere...
Except for the XBox copy my room mate got second hand.
I say get it while you can.
And a card that supports pixel shader 2 can be gotten very cheaply. it'll let you play other games with cool effects, so its worth getting anyway.

I meant the ORIGINAL ones, ie in their ORIGINAL BOXES, not the budget ones. Don't take what I say out of context please

I think "just fine" is a bit of a horrific overstatement.

You could upgrade to a Geforce 4 Ti 4400 or 4600 for like $40 on eBay and it would let you play TDS just fine.
Don't do that, I used to have one of those. When it plays, it's incredibly jerky. Not unplayable jerky, but immersion breaking jerky.

Sorry, I didn't realise your context was completely retarded.
This may seem like a stupid question, but what's the advantage in owning a copy of Thief or Thief 2 in the packaging it was in when first released? And why get pissy that shops OMG DON'T STOCK the "original" version?
