Hi all,
I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere but I need a step by step tutorial on how to make a spraying water fountain. I've actually figured out how to do the water in the base of the fountain - Im having trouble making the spray/fountain effect.
I know it has to do with particles, and I think sfx-particles, and sfx-particlelaunch are involved but I can't seem to find a specific step by step guide anywhere, I've looked at a few wikis that explain each function but I guess I'm a little dense because I can't seem to make this thing work, been looking all day for an answer.
Can anyone help a newbie dromeditor?
Thanks!

There should already be a particle spray effect in the gamesys. Use that. Tweak to your liking.

Hi Zylon,
Thanks for replying. I went to the object hiearchy and looked for anything to do with a "particle spray" but nada. There's particle bridges and the like, but creating them in my mission does nothing...
How would I access the gamesys through dromed? Or is it already tied to the object hiearchy?
Please explain. Thanks.

First, don't reply
above the text you've quoted. That's obnoxious and entirely misses the point of quoting in the first place. This is a forum, not email.
Second, find a particle object in the hierarchy,
any particle object, and place it in your level. Does it work? Okay, now play with the particle parameters and observe what each one does. (
http://thief.wikia.com/wiki/DromEd/Properties/SFX/Particle_Launch_Info) Particle Launch Info controls where the particles appear, what direction they're going when they appear, and how long they last. (
http://thief.wikia.com/wiki/DromEd/Properties/SFX/Particles) Particles controls what the particles look like, how many of them there are, how they animate, fading in and out, etc.

I did find the particle pole effect - which I changed to use blue pixels - hence a fountain(ish) look. Thank you! By the way I found this awesome page that gives the particle palette in an easy to understand reference image: (

Some of you may already know of it but I thought it might help newbies like me. Thank you again Zy.
