Mansion from "When Still" is one of the best fan levels I have ever played. Gorgeous atmospheric mission with great use of Half Life 2 music.

The attic you're looking for may very well be there. My writings concerning this mission mention an attic, but are a bit vague. Looks like there is no ladder and no stairs there, but one has to use a rope arrow. Something important for the player's progress is up there.
