I'm having trouble picking up guards to hide the bodies. The problem is that I can't keep them lit up/ centered. Not sure if this is a problem with the software or a problem caused by my system.
If it helps, these are my specs.
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit
RAM 16 GB
CPU i7-2600 CPU@3.40GHz
GPU GeForce GTX 560 Ti
If anyone knows what's causing the problem and can help I would greatly appreciate it. Also if more ifo is needed please ask and I'll be happy to provide it.

One stupid question, please:
Is it the same if you crouch down first?

Hmm, just tried it. I can keep it centered long enough to pick up the body. :o Thanks for the tip. Is this the way it is intended to work in Thief II?

It shouldn't be difficult, especially if the body is closer to the camera. It's normal if the body is laying on the same level as Garrett's "feet" while standing up. I'm not sure if changing T2's "Auto Search" menu option, for looting bodies, has that effect or not. There's a problem if the camera is close to the body and you still can't pick it up easily.

Ok, well crouching lets me pick up the bodies 100% of the time. A little more inconvenient than being able to do it from a standing up position, but at least crouching lets me pick them up. Thanks again for the tip.

If you have it set up conveniently, you can crouch a little, grab the body, and go pretty quick, so it's not too annoying.

That could be it. When it's off, the body and whatever is being carried will fight for attention because they're both very close to the centre of the screen.

Yeah, I noticed that picking them up actually makes me stand automatically so it's not too bad at all. Also I haven't messed with it yet, but I"ll try the autoloot and see what that does.

So what we've learned here is that Garrett doesn't have five-foot-long gibbon arms.
Autoloot makes you automatically loot a body when you frob it. With autoloot turned off you have to specifically highlight carried items to loot them. This can be a huge pain in the ass if a body has fallen the wrong way, so AFAIK most people turn autoloot on.
On a related note, you might want to turn auto-equip OFF, so that Garrett doesn't automatically equip his bow every time you steal an archer's arrows.

Not sure what is going on. I did try it with autoloot turned on, not sure if that is making much of a difference though.
I did notice something else though. Is it possible for a particular body to be bugged? The reason I ask is
that on the first mission I blackjacked the two guards that were talking about relighting the torch after I put it out, they were just past the butler's quarters. Anyway after that I walked down a long hallway and blackjacked a guard with his back turned. The one wiith his back turned was the one I couldn't get centered unless i crouched. But I moved him where I put the other two guards and I can pick them up just fine. It's just the one that I had to crouch to pick up that is giving me problems.
So yeah, wondering if it's possible for it not to be the game itself, but rather individual guards that have a bug of sorts?
