The fan mixes are good but shouldn't the site thief-thecircle.com at least have all the Thief 1 & 2songs available for download? Where can I get all the music? What about sounds? Is it possible to get the tricksters giggle off the 'Maw of Chaos'?

All of the "music" in Thief's I and II, was in fact many little audio clips. Several clips would mix together in real time while you were playing in the game, creating a somewhat orchestral overtone.
No, my friend. There is no download of the Thief's I and II songs. However, if you own the games simply "unzip" the snd.crf and lo and behold. The Thief's I and II songs.

How would I do that? I'm English, which means I barely know how to use a computer...

If you are running XP or Vista, support is built into the OS.

How dare they refuse to violate copyright law for you convenience!
But in case the fragmented instructions above don't make sense, and you want to make a backup copy of the OM ambient sounds for personal use, do this:
* first, you have to fix a known bug in Windows: open your Windows Explorer and using Tools...Options..View, uncheck the "hide file extensions for known types," click "Apply," then click "Apply to all Folders"
* copy SOUND.CRF from your T1/T2 CD to your hard disk
* rename the file to "T1_Sound.zip" or something similar, the important thing is the ZIP file extension
* now, the system should recognize it as a compressed folder that you can open or unzip
* after opening the ZIP file, look in the SFX folder

I've been trying to get some work for people wanting music for their fan missions... does anybody want my own brand of ambient music to accompany their creations?
here's a sample of what I do

Wow, you guys are a blistering fountain of knowledge. It turns out that there is a dromed tool that can extract all of the audio files into a useable format, found (
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/dromed/tools.asp) here. It's quite easy to paste together the PCM's to make some semblage of a soundtrack. Ooooh tastey viddles, later bitchez!
