Actually, a four-FM series. Three out these are almost done, and these contain most of the dialog.

Correct. All I need are clean medium to higher quality sound files, and I'll do the rest.
I'll send you email separately.

That's a shame about Lonestar.
I could certainly give it a try. I probably can't do garrett but maybe some of the others. Haven't done any recording before, but I could certainly give it a shot. I have a standard mic that came with my sound card, so I don't know how good a quality I could get on that.
For all I know I might suck, but will never know if I don't try
Could you provide me with some line examples? Or should I just duplicate some of the existing lines for a trial run and then go from there?
What particular accents are you looking for? To me the current game sounds don't have very specific regional accents (except the pagans), mainly the dialog they use follows a particular pattern, like the manner-speak
Anyway, just let me know.
Cheers,
Vaul

Yeah, Loanstar posted something about his unplanned retirement a couple of weeks ago. His call, and I respect that.
Not sure what kind of microphone you got with your sound card. But so long as it's not the pencil-stalk types that come with some computers, you may have a chance here. Windows Sound Recorder software may be okay (I use something else). If your sound card came with recording software, I'd try that. Save files as *.WAV 44100 rate x 16 bits mono if you can.
I'll send you a script segment for you to play with. Most of the characters are typical Thief fare.

I can do a lawyer voice in lawyer mode, coming from a family of them. I'm also English which might add to the polish aspect?
My non-pretentious voice has been likened to a west country vicar (the type who probably preaches to a church full of farmers)
No promises but I'll have a go if you like. I've got a cheapo stage-mic and an on-board sound card.

Excellent. I'll send you the segments for the Lawyer and believe-it-or-not the part of the Vicar.
Part of this was re-written, and I don't have the latest with me. So look for it in a few hours.

One problem -- I don't see your email address around here. Here's mine... frobber@edanet.com.

if Windows sound recorder is anything like it used to be (ie: like mine is), it's crap. It will only record in 8bit. Stay far away from it.
Get Goldwave or -the one I can't remember that Daxim always mentions that's not Cool Edit-
Or even go here;
http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/
and pull up the list of wav recorder/editors. Throw a dart at the screen. Download the one it hits. It will be better than Sound Recorder.

That sounds like sound sound advice.
Thanks for passing it along!
