More specifically the idea was to pair someone with a story idea for a mission but no technical experience with Dromed with someone who would help them bring the mission to life, by doing the Dromed work for them. The story person would still be expected to do things like plan the objectives, write the texts, and so forth, and the Dromeder would do all the building and scripting, but really serve as a sort of contractor for the story creator - although his/her opinions on story and gameplay elements would certainly be welcome, I imagine.

So does this mean the mission file I have on my HD that was started for the first beauty contest still won't ever see the light of day?

I have a question :erg:
Would someone like myself be considered a seasonal Dromeder or Novice if: I have 2 1/2 years experience with dromed and have released 1 mission and a demo?
I'm just wondering because I would consider myself a seasonal/novic-ish dromeder but I just wanted to be sure :angel:
Novice.

That sounds like an amazing idea. Though I wonder if it would be fun for the experienced Dromeder as well, unless they were literally a contractor :cheeky:
As for myself, while I would consider myself to be the novice Dromeder, I could still probably do quite a bit in the editor. The only issue could be that the inexperienced guy could make messy brushes that would later cost the experienced one more work than if he'd done it himself. Then again, how messy is messy? :D

@Sneaky -
In the past, a novice dromeder was usually defined as someone who has never released a mission.
As far as "seasonal" dromeders go, well there's lots of those around, me included... :laff:

The point was that the experienced one did all of the Dromed work, so that wouldn't be a problem. I think we were also going to offer up a base mission to save lots of time, like an abandoned mission which already had some terrain geometry.

I'd love to see another chain project. It would be weird, but possible I think, to make it into a contest, where players voted on which area of the finished mission they liked the best.

+1 on the beauty contest. Yes, I like play over visual wow, but I am Jonesing for new FMs and anything is welcome!
How about not only beauty, but special effects too?
Otherwise, the other suggestion of novice + master is cool. I like the idea of pairing someone with great ideas, but little to no Dromed skills with a master. This should make for some good FMs.
