Just installed the new SP patch, the video drivers must have been improved to match the performance of Unreal Tournament, because it's run like a jet...
Oh well if anyone shows no interest in this you can have here...

Is it worth it if we have a Voodoo card?
SS5 on 4/3/2001 at 05:58
Well going from 40Fps to 60Fps is a difference.
Runs like HL now...
However i don't know how much it will improve your rig.
Because i have fast machine.
And no Voodoo Ge-Force 1 DDR, also a friend who reported the patch have an GF2 Ultra.
And maybe you should try if the Voodoo (which one ? is improved or not) works any faster.
I do recommend however using a FTP client to download it, right click the link and click on copy link, import it to the FTP client and good luck.

I did notice some improvement with my Voodoo card. I can now play at the highest resolution without significant stuttering. Before the patch, if I'd have JC run around the outside of the Statue of Liberty, every few steps he'd seem to stumble because of the stuttering. With the patch, he runs smooth as silk.
Even the firefight outside the 'Ton seemed far smoother than before.

Who cares about improvements with Voodoo cards? The game did already perform very well on Voodoo chips.
Any experience with Geforce chips by now?
Thank you!

I just have one question:
WHERE THE FUCK WAS THIS PATCH BACK IN OCTOBER!?!!?!?!??
The game runs
perfectly on my Athlon 700 with Geforce 2 GTS and 256 RAM. I can play it with all things set on high, 32-bit color and 1024x768 resolution with no problems at all. I would have been braying with joy

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif if this patch had been released when I was actually playing the game. . .but at least it's smooth as hell now.
