Man, It seems like just yesterday that I was given the opportunity to play Thief for the first time (Thief:Gold). I don't remember too much from back then.... I want to get back into Thief and play through the series again. The problem is, I can't seem to get into the game for the life of me. I really want to get back into Thief and become a member of this community. What's the best way to experience these games without getting frustrated or just flat out bored. "Thanks and Happy Thieving."

Play the missions late in the evening and give yourself some goals, like Only save on each completed objective.
Once you start doing some missions again it's easy to get used to the gameplay and hard to get out of it again ;)

Giving yourself objectives won't cut it if the basic gameplay doesn't appeal to you.
Play the game the way it was meant to be played - of course do it late in the evening, as Niborius says, and for better results I would recommend a good headset.
If you're still bored - sorry, this community doesn't have a magic formula to make you like a game that bores you.

I think he likes the game, but he has played so many newer games that he finds it hard to get used to the gameplay and graphics. It sometime happens to me too. I usually just play it and after a while I get used to it.

Funny, everytime I get back to Thief I realize how superior it still is to most of the "next-gen" games.

I honestly enjoy Thief, it's one of my favorite games series. I think that, as some of you mentioned, I get turned away by the older graphics. I'm sure that If I take the time, I'll get used to it again. Thanks!

Then you should play with TFix and Thief HD mods. Both improve the gameplay and visuals.

I'll make sure to try those out! My first play through was on expert and I wonder if that was the best idea.;)
