NewDark allows us to use PNG automaps, the existing tools, makerect and cutout, only work with 256 colour palette images.
I wrote AutomapPNG to make the process easier. I've included an automap tutorial. The original ones are fine but I thought I'd start afresh to avoid confusing people with talk of palettes and hex editors.

I'd be interested to know what you think, including about the tutorial. One has to strike a balance between covering everything and not making something look harder than it is.

Since you included the tutorial, I can add this to the tutorials list, though I don't know how long you be able to leave it on Mediafire so if someone can host it, that would be great.

Thanks, will try it out. Has already tested Thief Mapper and managed to get it to work. But it's always fun with new tools.

A good idea. At the bottom of that section is a link to my other thread when I was asking for testers. That's no longer relevant.
