Hey Everyone!
We just want to send out a quick update to share some good news. Thanks to a new agreement we were able to negotiate with our partners at Microsoft, Harebrained Schemes is pleased to announce that we are now able to release fully DRM-free versions of Shadowrun Returns and future expansions such as Berlin.
The DRM-free versions of SRR and Berlin will continue to be fully supported. You'll be able to download all game patches, use the Shadowrun Returns editor and experience user-generated content downloaded from third-party sites such as Nexus.
We’re starting work to get Shadowrun Returns available on GOG.com right now - not sure how long that will take but we’ll let you know as soon as we have an answer.
We’re very excited we’re finally able to offer Shadowrun DRM-free to everyone and look forward to making it available!
Take care,
HBS

Microsoft buying the Shadowrun rights many years ago was the worst thing for the franchise.
Anyways, good to hear :). They've been hard at work at trying to get manual saving in also. The last patch added in a heap of stuff that was more for the people playing UGC (ie keypad number entry, customizable on the fly lighting etc).

Great news for hippies like Shadowcat, I guess.
Seriously, fuck manually patching games these days. Cloud saves were a glorious thing for this game. I was able to continue playing Dead Man's Switch whilst holidaying in my home city, visiting my family and childhood friends back in late August. I installed Steam onto my sister's Macbook Pro, downloaded the game and continued straight where I left off.
Also I'm calling it now, Workshop will remain the most popular source for fan campaigns by far.

Hey EvaUnit02, is your internet powered by insults or something? How is it that you can't make a single post without talking shit about someone?
I was gonna report your post but I'd rather do it openly like this instead of going through the hidden channels. Mods, I suggest you show this asshole the door. And if you decide to never let him back in you won't get any complaints from me.

...and the likes of dethtoll get a free pass? This is the NORMAL atmosphere that I've always observed on TTLG over the years, bluntness and no mollycoddling and most seem comfortable with it. Stop being a hypocrite.

Eva, cut the hostility out please. You're like an obnoxious dog with a bone lately.

To be fair, that's kinda true, and I've been part of it myself in the past. I have actually been trying to stop that and act more civil. Perhaps reflection of my real-life changes? Perhaps I'm maturing?
... or perhaps I developed a brain tumor :p

There's a difference between being blunt, no mollycoddling, and basically being an obnoxious jerk. Also, dethtoll gets called on it too, just not after every post, just like you don't get called on it after every post, Eva - because doing so is bloody boring for everyone involved. Turning this into "... but he's being a dick too!" doesn't do you any favours.

If dethtoll jumped off a cliff, would you too?
please say yes, I'm trying to get a 2 birds 1 stone type situation going here.
