d3d_disp_no_rgb10_buf is not enabled, right? also, your gpu needs to actually support the feature.

; by default it will try to use an enhanced 32-bit precision display mode, if the driver supports it, but
; there may be instances (like with integrated intel GPUs) where the driver does support it but it may not
; work correctly (such as gamma not working), this option will disable the use of enhanced precision

That dark ring is the sky above the mountains in your distant art, right? So either you need to edit it out so the texture is fully transparent there (and use the sky settings in Thief for the sky) and the texture is fully opaque (I can see stars through the mountains!), or use that texture as a skybox instead of distant art, but that may be tricky since there's no top side made for it. I've never used a skybox so I'm not much help there, but I do know there are plenty of skyboxes out there and you can probably find one similar to that image.

I've failed in my attempts in making the top of the texture transparent, which i tried with pcx format.
As far as i've seen skybox doesn't take a texture so not sure how to set it as skybox instead.
If i use no clouds things look great but clouds would be nice for some more athmosphere.
@Voodoo47
I'm not sure what that is or where to enable it or how. Will it fix my problem?
I don't remember any mission with side art and clouds like this where this problem might have been solved.
It's still a clear night in Westbree! :(
A better view for Cardia1 (Thanks, m8!)

Clouds will work fine as long as you remove the sky from your distant art. I think you posted a link to it in another thread, right? I can try to remove it for you if you like, or someone else might volunteer if they can do it quicker than me.

it's a cam_ext.cfg config var.

I'd like to keep "above the mountains art, since it has a nice glow to it.
I'm well trained in photoshop but thanks for your help. (Had to get this image to be "repeatable" beforehand)
As it is I'll rather keep the glow from behind the mountains than get clouds.
I guess its not gonna be cloudy :D

I'll give it a go and see what it does.

Okie dokie. If you were to convert it to a skybox (used instead of newsky I believe) then you could still have clouds. There are probably threads around on how to do that, basically you need 6 images for the six faces of a cube surrounding the game. There are plenty of sets in fam.crf in the skyhw family if you want to look into it.
