Being only on the Engineering deck at this point,
consider this a partial review as I have only begun to scratch the surface of your great FM.
Con (to get the ugly out of the way)
I am really enjoying this FM so far but the levels seem a bit linear, not in your choice of levels to tackle first, but in how to tackle them. I find it tough to try to evade enemies as there seems to be only a single main hallway and so I am forced to try to go past them (kill them) as opponent to around, like through another hallway. Same goes for Cameras, as there never seems to be a security terminal around when I need one...
All do respect to the voice talent you have, but man I am having trouble with those German accents... I just find them hard to understand and always end up reading the text instead..
I am hoping that The Many will be explained I just took care of that pesky problem in SS2! ;)
Pro (The good stuff)
Detail.. detail.. detail.. detail.. Love it, the books, cabinets, mops, ducks, posters, chocolate bars, etc. Everything, it’s great! In a way I kinda felt the lack of detail in SS2 added to a sense of isolation, everything in metallic colors, little personal effects, it all added up to create this feeling of being in a huge metal coffin which really made you feel like you were on your own.. But screw all that, the detail is great and when I work on my FM (which you have inspired me to do) I was hoping I could use some of your hard work..
Although I said I found the level to be a bit linear, that is really a small thing.. The time you must have invested.. It looks really good and otherwise well thought out... I look forward to see the rest of the ship and this colony I have read about..
Overall
Very well done and congrats to all involved, I am really enjoying it and would be playing it right now except I stuck at work! :(
As I stated earlier this has inspired me to try to create my own FM. However I'm thinking it will be a little less ambitious than yours Christine..

Mission Complete. Debriefing.
Time : 6h10min Difficulty : Normal
A fantastic FM with plenty to do. I had a great time, thanks a million for this. I love Milka chocolate. Just one thing : in Shuttle Bay there are two laser turrets hidden behind pitch black textures, making them impossible to spot unless you actually see the shots coming from them. I wondered a few times what the hell was killing me. The respawn rate is a bit high for my taste, but now I'm off to try RTUNN, and I gather I haven't seen anything yet.
:cheeky: :cheeky:
BTW, some of the voice acting is actually quite good!

I'm stuck, where do I find the
power cell
?
ZylonBane on 26/2/2006 at 17:00
Which one?
Axx0 on 26/2/2006 at 17:32
I did not know there were several.
I have been on every level on the ponterbee, but I lack the power cell to open the door down at engineering. The first one.
IIRC, check the cargo bays.

I'm somewhat stuck on the same thing. I've just activated the transmitter, and now I don't know where the hell I'm supposed to go...am I missing a keycard or another elevator or something?
What should you do right after the transmitter?
ZylonBane on 27/2/2006 at 00:22
Well, what do your Notes say?
Axx0 on 27/2/2006 at 13:33
Well, I must've missed to check cargo bay two, because it was there.
But when I press the self-destruct button the game just ends, is it supposed to be that way?
That comment about fighting the boredom.. there's an audio clip missing...
"You find yourself in a hangar, the smell of burnt electronics emanates from the cold steel walls. There is a door with the reading Ponterbee on it"
"I wanna cast cryokinesis"
"Why would you want to cast cryokinesis? There's nothing to attack here."
"I'm attacking the boredom"
"Fine, you attack the boredom, there's a marine in front of you"
...
Or somewhat like that...
