But when I press the self-destruct button the game just ends, is it supposed to be that way?
That's the end, yes, but you should see a cutscene.
That comment about fighting the boredom.. there's an audio clip missing...
"You find yourself in a hangar, the smell of burnt electronics emanates from the cold steel walls. There is a door with the reading Ponterbee on it"
"I wanna cast cryokinesis"
"Why would you want to cast cryokinesis? There's nothing to attack here."
"I'm attacking the boredom"
"Fine, you attack the boredom, there's a marine in front of you"
...
Or somewhat like that...
Say what? Sounds like you found an Easter Egg.

No, he's just paraphrasing the old Dungeons and Dragons sketch.

Oh. Well then, try re-copying the log recordings from the zip file and see if that fixes the problem.

First off, a great "Thank You" To Christine for this wonderful FM. There's only one drawback for my friend and I...
Every level seems to work except Deck 5 (Recreation) Heading up to deck 5 from any level causes our games to unsync. Usually, I can see him move on my monitor, but my character on his screen is frozen. I don't know if this is an issue with the file itself or our connection, but we have tried multiple save files, new games where we just get to the elevator, etc. and nothing seems to allow us to get level 5 working properly.
The level runs fine independently on both machines. Just wondering if anyone else experienced problems with MP and Ponterbee.
Once again, thank you Christine. We really appreciate your hard work.

Everyone has been having problems with Ponterbee Station and Multiplayer.

Hello, all. New member here, and long-time fan of this series of games, having played the first one (long since stolen by one of my mum's ex boyfriends) when it first came out and being blown away by it.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting in this thread is that I just downloaded the mod, but it doesn't seem to work properly. First, I couldn't get the download to work from the location in the OP (I got to the download screen, but the auto download didn't happen, and the non-autodownload screen went to a "Page Not Found" message), so I got it from (
http://www.strangebedfellows.schwarzsilber.de/index.php/topic,84.0.html) here.
Now, I'm pretty sure I've followed the instructions in the Readme text to the letter (although I'm the first to admit that I'm not the most technically-minded of people when it comes to this kind of thing, however following instructions isn't exactly difficult), except that I already had a mod installed (the one that makes the character models more realistic), so didn't need to make a "Res" folder, or alter the code in the Install file.
The Mod works fine for all the bits that are from the original game, it's just when I get to the 4th year that, as soon as I appear in the level, I fall through the floor, and just fall and fall and fall. I tried as both a Marine and Navy guy, and made sure I did a different end mission for year 3, but both did the same.
Is there something I can download to fix this, or is the file I downloaded corrupted in some way, or something?

Hello.
After almost one year away from this site, I come back and find this AMAZING fan mission. I stand in awe before you, Christine. So much detail, lots of humor, great action, professional level design... I am halfway through the Rec deck and didn't find any bug whatsoever.
Now, on for a few minor gripes, just for the sake of nitpicking... ;)
- The archive extraction overwrites many more files than those the readme instructs to backup, especially a whole bunch of *.str files. Maybe because I already had installed previous mods (Shtup and Rebirth)?
- More logs would further enhance atmosphere. The voice acting in the existing ones is very good (the German accent doesn't really bother me, I am a big fan of Schwarzenegger's films).
- There's a little too much hybrid respawning on Med-Sci for my taste. After playing SS2 a dozen times on Impossible, I consider myself a wrench master but sometimes get tired of hybrid-bashing.
- Ammo is really scarce on the first areas of Hydroponics (and yet I almost never miss). At a time, I didn't have anything left but my trusted wrench.
- Pistols are much more common than shotguns (unless of course you invest into Repair skill, but I always skip that one to beeline to Std 6). After completing Ops, I have about 3 pistols in decent or even good condition, which are no longer useful, because I've just upgraded to the AR, but no working SG (the last one just broke while clearing the Mall).
Aside from that, I'm a happy man. Even stopped playing Civ4 for a while, due to extreme immersion in your mod. Thanks again! :D
