You first.

It is, in fact, just as bad as Oblivion. Only worse.
Ahem. You clearly haven't even begun to appreciate how bland, workmanlike and utterly soulless Oblivion really is. It's like Michael Bay made a game, but then the editing team
cut out all the explosions.

Now look for all the other stats
Modifications (up or down) to perception, strength and agility seem perfectly reasonable on the whole as its easy to see how outfits can affect these. Charisma and endurance modifiers are also explainable although more of a game mechanic. I agree that the three items (in the non-expanded game) that give improved luck are hard to explain.

then move to skills.
Bonuses to small guns and repair could easily be because the outfits are structured to allow you to be more efficient in each area. Sneak bonuses are due to camouflage or simply due to the clothing allowing you to move quieter. I'm sure other (non magical) explanations can be found for the other bonuses.

Then write 2000 words about the difference of magical +stat clothing and drugs. Then get out of here.
Thanks, but no thanks.

Far Cry 2 doesn't even have "stats" but you can buy armor that increases your ability to sneak.
Edit: Also, I tend to make it a rule that I at least attempt to play a game a few times before writing it off as shit. See: Arcanum/ToEE

Complaining about clothing items that give you slight improvements to stats as "magical" is hilarious when you consider the first two games had:
* ghosts
* psychic powers
* radiation-induced size increases
* dream messages from a tribal shaman
* a talking plant
* a plant growing out of some guy's head
* aliens

Yeah, I didn't play the game. Enter thet ancient and tired argument of not eating shit here. Which doesn't change the fact thtat I read and saw enough of it to know that the system is worthless, animations are shit, equipment is nothing short of magical, world doesn't make any goddamn sense, dialogues are retarded, shit's buggy, et cetera et cetera.
You could make similar lists of flaws for any other game as ambitious in it's scope as FO3. What you're leaving out (and you might not have noticed it because, y'know, you didn't actually
play the game) is that FO3 is really really really good.

Hilarious how all but one of these were in Fallout 2, which "those NMA faggots" consider inferior.
Well now you might have an idea why. Hell, don't
you hate it
yourself?

Not really, no. Unless you mean like, Oblivion, which sucks, yes. It's also been done by the same studio, but I guess that's a total coincidence.
