In exchange we're probably going to get a "complex overarching story of truths, lies and revenge against the system", or something similar.
Close enough? :)

(nothing substantial in that entry though, only a release date (Feb 2012), and a link to a proto-website for the game where the rest of the above quote resides)

Needs more shots of dudes in trenchcoats firing miniguns but other than that it looks awesome. I like the part where the guy gets persuadatron'd and when the guy casually shoots the 2 guards. The actual gameplay parts look good too. And the music is bad-ass.
Yeah, this could be good.

Sooo, Syndicate turned Deus Ex on us, eh?
First X-Com, now Syndicate....
Hmmmm....
THE WORK OF THE LIZARDMEN!?

Hmm they added in trenchcoats since the screenshot release so thats a +1, and the tune was alright so +1 there.
However that video doesn't feel very Syndicate-ish, and it looks like you'll be inside buildings all the time and never out walking the city streets so -10 for that. Man that looks very Deus 3-ish also. Despite the fact that Deus Ex 3 handled outside city sections just fine.

It screams Mirror's Edge to me and I don't mean just the movement and animations, but the art direction too with its use of colour.
Being a Starbreeze game, I expected it to be nowhere near being a generic FPS and that's what I got from the trailer, a non-generic looking Starbreeze game. Let's wait and see what the game actually is, rather than lamenting over what it isn't.
What worries me is why has EA only started promoting the game ~5 months before release? If we don't see much advertising between now and release, it could be a sign that they know that they have a far from solid product on their hands.
