i feel like a novice asking this but hey !:erg:
i just downloaded Deadly shadows to finally play it to change from thief 2
but i can't get off a ladder when it doesn't end at the floor you're going to
the ladder is longer than needed
in thief 2 i could jump off from it but in T3 i just fall down
tried mantling but i always fall
what am i missing !!!?:weird:

You can't jump while on ladders in TDS. Garrett will just let go and fall.
Is there any mission in particular that you are having trouble with?

well the one I had trouble with was in the kind of sewer place in the prison
there were stairs to go up or a ladder in the opposite side with which i could have caught a gard from behind (he was patrolling form near the ladder to the opposite stairs .You're almost out of the prison when you get there.
another question while i'm at it ; )
what can you do with stuff you pick up ? i find food but can't eat it
also the wands from the priests wich i tought would be loot or useable
its a really good game if you get over what you're used to in T2 wich i'm playing since 2000

I haven't played Pavelock Prison for ages but the bit you describe sounds familiar.
You can't do much with items that you can pick up. So no eating of food like in the previous games and the only benefit to stealing wands is that you then can't be zapped with them.

i didn't think i'd like T3 but i was wrong !!!
still learning the ropes though
i escaped a few guards by going in a blue smoke door
problem was they were still there when i came back later !! that's how i discovered Pavelock ; )
