Most people don't realise that Wolf3D is actually the third Wolfenstein game (Castle Wolfenstein, Escape from Castle Wolfenstein, Wolfenstein 3D, Spear of Destiny, Return to Castle Wolfenstein).
I have no idea why anyone would complain about "plot" changes between these games though. Was the original post a joke or something?

It wasn't an add-on, it was the standalone sequel to Wolf3D. However there was an add-on released for Spear of Destiny, which might be what you are thinking of.
