Hello all, just starting playing DeusEx. Can you save the game at any time and restart from that point...or do have to pass a certain point before you don't have to start from the beginning again.
Thanks.

Let me guess, fairly new to computer gaming ;)? There's a quicksave key, as well as a save option in the game menu (press "esc"). I think the quicksave key is "+" by default but check your keybindings.

Actually no...I'm actually an avid gamer (when gradute studies permit), especially Thief, but just recently discovered a DeusEx CD that came with my Live! soundcard. I tried saving using the Esc method as you mentioned, but when I returned the following day, there was nothing to "load". I was looking for a "thief-like" interface, with time-stamped saves. But I'll try again...Thanks for your help.

You get no manual with those free discs, no?

That's odd. Should have worked then. The esc menu in DX has a standard load and save function just like any other game. It saves your game, includes a screenshot so you know where you are, as well as a descriptive name of the area and a timestamp. It's all there in the game.
