Starts: August 1st, 2013
Ends: August 11th, 2013
Rules:* Create the best FM for T1 or T2 you can in a single 48 hour build period in Newdark DromEd. Post in this thread when you begin.
* After 48 hours has elapsed, zip and upload your mission in whatever state it is in, PM me the link and post in this thread that you've completed your entry.
* You may NOT create or use multibrush VBR files made prior to the 48 hour build period
* You MAY use textures, objects, meshes, and sounds made prior to the 48 hour period
* Keep your entry anonymous until voting has finished
Details:This is a 48 hour DromEd fight to the death. FM Authors will sign up in this thread for a 48 hour period between August 1st, 2013, and August 11th, 2013. Post in this thread when you begin and start a new mission. During your 48 hours you will build the best FM you can running off as little sleep and as much caffeine as possible. All mission construction will be done during this time. You may not create or use multibrush VBR files in advance. There are no other rules or guidelines, and all other resources are free game, such as textures, meshes, objects, or sounds. At the end of your 48 hours, you will zip your mission, upload it somewhere (I recommend (
http://www.mediafire.com/) MediaFire), and PM me the link. Do not publicly reveal which mission was yours until after voting has completed.
Voting:The current voting plan is straightforward and simple. All entries will be listed in a poll, and forum members will receive a single vote for the one they like best based on whatever criteria they wish to use. After a 2 week period, the winner will be officially announced.
PrizesCurrently, no physical prizes will be awarded. However, the winner will receive a sense of accomplishment, eternal praise and adulation. The losers will receive unending shame, and contempt. Just kidding! ...The shame and contempt will end eventually.
Good luck!

Do you mean the 4th? August 11th is a week later.

You choose a 48 hour period between August 1st, and August 11th. So you could go from August 6th at 8pm until August 8th at 8pm. Someone else could choose August 1st at 4pm until August 3rd at 4pm. Etc.
Sorry if that wasn't clear.

This was discussed over the the Editor's Guild - the idea was to give authors the flexibility to pick their 48 hour period over two consecutive weekends (and the week between them) in case people had plans one of the weekends. Since the majority of people work Mon-Fri, weekends are the best way to max out your time for this contest.

You know, that really is not cool. Or funny.

"After 48 hours has elapsed you must zip and upload your mission in whatever state it is in, finished or not" implies much the same as DiMarzio

Agreed Brethren,
People will be putting in a lot of time and energy into this and I'm certain they don't appreciate the negativity straight out of the gate. This contest will involve a lot of pre-planning followed by a stressful 48 hour period where they'll have to assemble everything and hope they budgeted their time properly.

DiMarzio, that type of attitude is definitely not appreciated. :nono: If you don't care to play them, then feel free to leave them for the rest of us who are interested.
Great idea! I'll look forward to playing them!

I think this is a great idea! I look forward to playing the results. :)
Is this contest limited to T2 Fms? I only know how to use DarkRadiant the TDM editor.
