It's true, I'm the worst contest host in the world, ever. However, while I understand this has been very frustrating for you, and maybe you feel this has been a waste of your valuable time, it's not appropriate for you to express you anger at me. The misunderstanding was unfortunate but getting angry and placing blame won't change anything.
You aren't expected or required to stay up for 48 hours straight. Contestants are responsible for choosing how they use their time, and how much they devote to sleeping, other activities and editing.
Again, you have my condolences, but please return the respect I give you. Thanks.

Dude, it was just a misunderstanding. This kind of thing is just for the fun; the entire point is to see what one's creative skills allows one to do in 48 Hours, and I also see it as a tongue-in-cheek bit of humour about the sheer dedication of the community; the joke is a rhetorical question like, "How hard is it to make an FM in 48 hours?" followed by a Gilligan Cut followed up by, "You're serious."
Nobody implied you were expected to stay up. Some people are cramming as much time in as they can, and then sleeping and going to work. You sound more like you're upset you don't get bragging rights because it wasn't in a contest, nevermind that another person might hold a contest in the near future.
With that said, I can't wait to see what this contest brings. I sadly can't play anything right now because I still don't have my CDs, but I will definitely watch if it ends up in an LP on YouTube. I know FenPhoenix does a lot of FM playthroughs.

I was sorry to see that such a misunderstanding had occurred and I regret it, as, I'm sure, does everyone else here. But we won't tolerate profanity and personal attacks on the Thief fora. I've removed the offending words and I suggest we put this behind us and move on.

I know you're a young guy (14) but your immaturity is really showing. The rules clearly state that this is a 48 hour contest, and
everyone else is living by those rules. No one expects you to go without sleep, and no one expects you to be on your computer day and night. But you can't just bypass all the rules because you don't like they way they're set up. To be honest, I can't figure out for the life of me why you think you can just do as you please while everyone else is following the guidelines properly.

I understand that this might be frustrating for you sneaky. But why do you take part in a 48 hours contest when you never completed an FM (correct me if i'm wrong).
It's much easier to build an FM in such short time if you are more experienced, obviously.
Why take part in this contest if you do not have the time? And if you think it is too short
period. I mean, if you think it is a stupid contest, it's your right to think that, but why don't
you keep that for yourself and just skip it. A lot of people think it's a good challenge, so it
couldn't be that bad. I think it's a good contest.

You are right, i missed Tannar's post. I'm sure it's gonna be fun to play these missions. I thought about make one too but i am in the end of the beta testing on my FM.

Right now in France it's 5.15 pm, I just started at 5.00 pm. Starting point is set, scripts are loaded, I'm in for 48 hours of madness. Wish me luck :p
