Speaking about this wonderful stuff, i think we can assume it all happened thanks to the infamous source code leak? I'm almost sure. Big thanks to everyone who made this possible, it's a pity they can't publish it officially and get all the credit they deserve. Thank you people!

I'm really enthusiastic about this patch. Does it work for thief 1?
After extracting the files into my thief folder, I get an error when I attempt to launch dromed or thief:
Quote:
Error
Unable to locate or load d3dx9_43.dll
What have I neglected?

You are lacking DirectX files. You need to install a more recent DirectX version, by the sounds of it.

I've had a chance to try 1.19 with some fan missions. Practically every quirk and issue with the Dark Engine seems to have been fixed. It runs gloriously on my MacBook Pro with a Geforce 8600M GT GPU, where previously DDFix would just about work with much fiddling. Videos didn't either.
Hence my post, I still had an issue with some IV50 codec AVIs not playing with the new v1.19. Rather than trying to find and download the official Indeo installer (which isn't really a good idea on a 64-bit Windows anyway), I've since found the (
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=156191) LAV Filters pack.
After installing this, IV50 codec AVIs play flawlessly in VLC and in-game.

Any special instructions about how I should install this reverse engineering hacker patch on gog.com version of thief 2? As we have ddfix there and i'm afraid of incompatibility.

This is probably a stupid question in which case I apologize for asking, but could V1.19 work with ddfix 1.5.11? I ask because of the bloom in ddfix, which is disabled after installing this patch(Thief2.exe was replaced).

bloom can be enabled in cam_cfg. the video dlls are in a separate archive (contrib.zip), you need to extract it to your thief2 folder to enable the videos. the need to install the full dx9 package from ms site is also mentioned.
read your readmes folks! :p

I just followed the instructions (extract zips over the install directory) plus some extra tweaks for Thief 1, and it seems to work fine with both games.
Praise the Builder, and the people who made this possible.
