Why would they want to make it on the same engine as Deadly Shadows? That thing is a game-killer ... they should just start over with UT3 or the latest Quake engine or something.
I've long had an idea for a ninja-thief series of FMs ... I'm thinking about doing that on the DarkMod. There was a really famous medieval ninja-thief named Goemon whose story would be perfect.

I think when he said "the same engine as the Thief games" he wanted to say "engine" as the gameplay behind Thief. It doesn´t make sense otherwise because all Thief games doesn´t have the same engine.

Thief 1 & 2 both used the DARK engine, Thief 2 just used a more advanced version of it. Thief 3 wasn't made by LG, thus his claim about the engine is completely correct.
Engine would also never be used to refer to gameplay. If he had wanted to say gameplay, he would just have said so. :erg:
In other news, i never knew LG had so many games going when they shut down! It has always seemed silly to cancel a game when its 90% complete, too. I mean, you've invested X millions in making the darn thing, isn't it better to put it out there and make SOME cash back on the investment rather than just letting the money go to waste? Sometimes the industry saddens me with its industrial practices >>

Quoted for truth.
This is obvious. Why are people talking about Deadly Shadows? Think about it guys.

Or the ninja (in mythos, any way) Hanzo Hattori? He always reminded me of Garrett in Warriors Orochi. :)
