Weakest of the series, but not that bad a game if you simply enjoy the genre, I have played much much worse and enjoyed these as well. I am easy to please mind you; I tend to look at what a game does right, if it isn't too much of a mess I will play it, SH4 was enjoyable but forgettable for a survival-horror fan such as myselve.
But alas, I can't be the only one who likes what he sees in Shattered Memory's, the guys at IGN seem to dig it. If, and it's a big if, they can wrap all this up in a solid package and be true to the series, awesome.

Silent Hill 4 was a pile of shit. Unkillable ghost enemies? Strike one. Irritating escort quest? Strike two. Doing each area in the the entire fucking game over again? Strike three. Doing it with a Kurt Cobain lookalike chasing after you with a machine gun? Strike fucking four, into the trashcan you go.
Fuck SH4.
