It's not a wii-mote issue. Aiming works just fine in RE4, and it worked just fine it Red Steel.
But house of the dead is a Sega game, and they've been pretty much useless for ages now.
Second that. I haven't played HotD but also found no such issues in any other Wii game.

we bought one second hand and a MoH game came with the bundle. I'll have to try it out again to see the accuracy issue, but as far as the controls went it sucked for an FPS. Imagine having to move your mouse back to the center of your mousepad when you're finished turning. Not the most intuitive I don't think.

No less intuitive than lifting the mouse up to recentre it when you've moved it past comfortable wrist range (or you run out of table).

The functionality of that MotionPlus addon should've been built into the controller from Day 1.
I'm pretty sure I've said this before when people mentioned MotionPlus in regards to shooting accuracy, but apparently it bears re-iterating: MotionPlus does FUCK ALL for the Infra-Red pointer, which is, y'know, what makes the cursors work for shooting games. If you're having movement lag issues, your wiimote might have a bum transmitter. Try re-synching it to the Wii. If it's shooting inaccurately, it's because YOU ACTUALLY SUCK. Try sucking less.

Sure, having to hold the Wiimote on a FUCKING FORTY FIVE DEGREE angle for the cursor to even REGISTER on the screen, whilst sitting eye level with the centre of the display, has everything to do with my abilities as a gamer. Get a fucking clue.

I knew somebody would say that. Although I'd say that picking up the mouse to put it back on the centre of the mousepad is (a) no less intuitive than having to reposition your legs under your torso after having twisted it to look in a certain direction and/or (b) a non-issue if your sensitivity is high enough and you're comfortable with it that way.
I'm not crapping on the Wii. I quite enjoy it. But so far I dont enjoy FPS games. Aiming is easy. its... moving.. turning. Anything thats really supposed to feel like moving your body IRL that doesn't compute with me. I'd love to play Metroid but I'm worried about spending 60 bucks on a game I'm not going to enjoy playing.
Unless of course the analog stick on the nunchuck is used the same way as the stick on the gamecube pad was. (ie. I don't have to TURN with the wiimote) Then I'll probably feel better about it.

Are you sitting six inches away from your TV or something?
EvaUnit02 on 5/3/2009 at 08:40
No, about 3 metres.

The man gives you advice and a tiny bit of a ribbing, you cuss him out.

Just tested it again. The calibration does readjust the cursor position, even if you play with it on. The tricky part is you don't have an actual cursor during calibration, so you need to aim down the wiimote.

This is not normal. My remotes don't have to be at eye level or at exactly 45 degrees. I can lounge on the couch with the remote pointing upwards at the tv and it works fine.
