i find that guy rather refreshing. he just speaks what everybody else is DOING but pretending to do not (in fear of a customer backlash), you know, truth hurts and nobody wants to hear it and all. It makes him a more sympathetic manager imo opposed to all the "we-only-want-ur-best" liars out there, e.g. the IW manager claiming the new service and lack of dedicated servers is "helping" PC gamers and will provide a better overall experience....hahahahahaha (best point in case: fail4dead matchmaking)

If this shit spreads we are doomed to Call of Duty 135 :Nazis vs. the Moon Men, and Guitar Hero: BeeGees.
I'd totally buy both of those, at least if the latter ended before the BeeGees went disco.

Holy shit. Bobby Kotick is officially the biggest douchebag in video gaming, worse than CliffyB, TimmyS, anyone at 3D Realms, Bethesda's lawyers and is right up there with Larry Probst. I've never seen a gaming industry figure be so openly evil.

This one has to be my favourite:-
(
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.143151) CEO Bobby Kotick recently said that he wants to take all of the fun out of games development and wants a work environment that's driven by "skepticism, pessimism, and fear".
Fuck this guy to hell.

Fuck off. At least some people actually want games to be fun, entertaining, and a few even artistic without a high profit margin or sequel potential. Do all managers encourage a climate of "skepticism, pessimism, and fear"? Do all managers try to set a price on their games at $70-$100 apiece? Do all managers want you to end up spending $500 on a game? No. That's pure, utter bullshit, and if it were true there would be no Penumbra, no Cryostasis, no Audiosurf, no World of Goo, no goddamned indie games because it would all be Call of Duty, Halo, and other AAA money-raking franchises.

Thank you for telling mothra what I've stopped bothering to tell him because he just blocks people whose opinions he can't handle, the big blubbering vagina.

Hm. You know, it don't much matter what the manager wants to do if all he's got the money to make is world of goo.
Are there any studios out there that started off making low-budget, not AAA multiseller typical quirky indie games, got successful and thus aquired more resources and didn't switch over to AAA titles the second they could?
I don't think I want to celebrate indie developers as artists if the reality is they're too broke to make anything else.

At the same time I don't think ALL indie developers are the people that would have the mindset of extracting cash by any means necessary once they hit it big.
