No, not another "will there be thief4" thread, but... - by Flux

I've never been on a gamer internet forum where thief wasn't a well-respected game by at least a substantial minority of participants. On the other hand, I almost never talk to a gamer in real life who has even played the game.
I'm not sure what (if anything) that says about thief's success.
All I know is that I was developing T4 I would be scared as all hell of screwing it up!

I just read the article on Kotaku. It has been a while, but I have been drawn back, now time to read this post from start to finish.

There are parts you should probably skip.:p
One of the things that hurt TDS was the apparent insularity of the different departments working on elements: the engine that wasn't what the devs thought they were getting, the artists who just put clipart graphics on the devs' hand-drawn maps instead of really making the maps from the devs' sketches, and other things like that. If the specialised teams could work as part of a greater TEAM, and have communication back and forth to avoid the unpleasant and un-redoable surprises, I'd like to believe it would be to everyone's benefit.

I didn't realize they were poised to use yet another engine to make Thief (waaaay out of the loop:nono: ) I will check it out, seems exciting, is that the one they used to make Bioshock? I wasn't too impressed with Bioshock except for the water...:erg:

Well, this is assuming they are indeed making another Thief. Still waiting for Eidos to say "Sorry, taffers, we're not making another Thief," or "Yes. It's true."

Thief 4 probably won't use the Unreal Engine seeing as how Deus Ex 3 isn't.

Mmm, I wonder if it will be a Hitman/Thief crossover.
Not Hitman/Thief... I prefer the idea of Assassin's Creed + Thief. God... I still wanna know what if Altair had gotten Keeper training... :weird:

i wil throw this out there, you got to figure the glyphs are alien since they hold power, and keepers probaly were enlisted to guard them.
on that note what if thief 4 took place when the aliens got the message send when the final glyph was put in place by garrett, and came back to get garrett, since he was the only one smart enough to figure it out and be able to get what was needed.
to there alien world for a brand new adventure?
i also had a idea once,to have thief 4 be all the missing parts we wanted to know about from each sects on thief as in hammer, keepers, mech, pagans, etc.but a complete game when linked up but you can pick path you learn information/missions

Either my translator absolutely stinks, or the Zwitter lyrics have not a single thing to do with
Thief.:eww:
:sly:
LoL, it doesnt. I posted it in response to someone else saying that Rammstein should be part of a Thief soundtrack. And I thought Zwitter (Hermaphrodite) was a good one given the debate some were having over the gender of the child at the end of DS. Sorry to highjack. My jokes typically dont catch on...:(
