So pushing aside bizarre and intensely tedious quote matches...

And back to ridiculous over-eager anticipation mode:

What you do you realistically hope to see in the announcement?

Keep in mind, we won't receive a compelling university-level dissertation on the Life of Garrett. We'll probably get a 30 to 60 second teaser trailer and general press release.

Considering how general and teasing these will inevitably be, what do you hope to see?

I'd like the teaser to be done in the style of the classic Thief cutscenes with a nod to the sepia-toned simplicity of the briefing movies. And I'd like to hear Garrett's voice intone something subtly sinister and mysterious just towards the very end.

In addition to the inevitable teasing, I'd like to see some iconic Thief images as well as hear some music and sound effects from the first Thief.

Frankly, I don't expect much from the press release, but I hope to hear something about returning to the dark, gritty tone of the original Dark Project.

I guess, in short, I'd like some familiar sounds and images to feel reassured this is really a Thief game plus some mysterious material for us to geek out on for the next 6 months or so. :thumb:

I noticed thief4.com actually resolves to something now (although it is only showing up as a dash ("-") so far). Have to think they've got something in mind for that site right off the bat.

(If I missed this being mentioned already in the dozens of pages that have been added to this thread recently, sorry bout that. ;) )
