Personally, I hope it's not Garrett-related, if there is a new title coming. The ETU still has a long way to go, and TDS's secrets are still locked away behind a T3Ed wall. :p
Maybe it'll be so Highlander 2 disconnected that it won't be worthy of inclusion into the canon.

If the main character isn't Garrett T4 will suck, bigtime.
My ideal introduction would have some sort of trouble (maybe in the form of an argument) break out between Garrett and the Keepers, and once again our friend will resort to his thievery. Doesnt have to be like that, but anything that can undo he terrible ending TDS left us with will pacify me.

What's wrong with the ending in TDS? I didn't like how the plot unfolded, but the ending seemed just right.
Of course, it could seem to be slightly bitter in that it's very final, but I really don't think every game series should be a soap opera.

I'm really optimistic about this. Sure, it probably won't be as good as the originals, but I really can't imagine it being worse than TDS. They can't make the same mistakes twice, they just can't. Or else I will be sad. :(

I'll be one of the first to sign that one! Once we know another Thief's in the works, I'll be shouting a little louder. TDS has people eating burrick burgers, there's gotta be a burrick pen somewhere!:cool:

Well, it is a different group..so they could make the same mistakes, but I'm going to assume they're smart,professional, and will do their homework so that doesn't happen. I'm actually optimistic about it myself. I'll be optimistic until they prove otherwise.

Since when did you become *official*. :) How can you say that Garrett shouldnt be a part of a new title? Jesus man, do you want to listen to a girl chattering through the whole game? Garrett is essential to a Thief title! Dude, this is video gaming. It aint the movies. You wont win an oscar on the Thief boards... For some reason movies have to follow rules of some sort. Not video games. Thief IV could very easily throw all your unqualified speculation right out the window and come back with "prequels" that rock your mind. When did the fans get so presumptious that they predict the game that should be, before it is even a tangible thought? Talk about pressure on developers. jtr, ever have a girlfriend? Then you would surely know that if you let her go, she will come back. Deadly Shadow completely desecrated everything that the true Thief series was so masterfully built on. Johnny come latelys will *never* understand that. Of course we want a Thief IV, because there is a chance that it may be excellent. I bet if you ignore Thief for a while it will come back to you... Or instead of whining about another potential letdown, why not foster all of that ambition towards Dark Mod? Seriously, these guys understand Thief and have put all this effort into it FREE of goddamn charge! Let's enjoy Dark Mod for a while, and then in 4 years, let someone surprise you with a Thief IV that they secretly made behind your stinkin' back and crafted to perfection without any condescending public taintings. Then again, without all this bubbly nonsense TTLG would slowly die....
