I had to read that post a few times because I didn't want to believe you were really that mad at me and calling me a whiner after all the positive hopes I have for a Thief 4, as well as a dread based on the real world history of games. Plus It's been a blast just brainstorming ideas that don't HAVE to have anything to do with a video game, but the topic HAS provided me with a muse. Also, I've made comments that implied I don't really want another Thief, yet I've tempered those comments with the condition that if another Thief is pretty good, I'd change my mind. No one would recognise that about me, unless they were reading everything in context, from one thread to another, for the last few months, where the idea of another Thief has been mentioned.



What're you goin' on about, there, Goldie? There's quite a lot of fun and not a lot of whining. I think this has been pretty cool, except for the trollish bits that set me off! :)

Seriously, fellow taffers. There are a few of you who have caught on to what I'm doing, even if you don't agree, but you're getting it. The most negative comments against me have been from people who excel at lacking reading comprehension, and a percentage of them have the additional maxxed-out skill level for being practicioners of ignorance. (Don't think I mean you, GD!)

Goldmoon, I like you. If I made a typo or forgot a word in a post somewhere, I'm sorry. If you think I'm that bitter about TDS, heh, then you have to have skipped all the posts to the contrary, and ignored my work on the ETU. I'm bitter about a small group of people who are meaner than most of the complainers. :sly: I'm not whining dammit! I'm against destructive ignorance.

This has been a "What if...?" thread. Several of us have been pretending there might be a Thief 4 in the works and making stuff up, knowing it doesn't matter too much. And sometimes we throw out our real wish lists. And sometimes we just have a laugh. And sometimes we remember how the industry works all too often. And sometimes we engage in pure creativity and stream-of-consciousness and hold nothing back. And then the thread-shitters jump in and act like they know what's going on, and are appallingly wrong. And then we plug our noses and look for comic relief. And then we get back to the fun we were having.

Official? Me? That's not anywhere close to what I said or why. :( You think we should help the Dark Mod, which is purposely Thief-like but purposely not Thief? Where were you when I asked New Horizon how people like me in the community could help, when many of us are not even in a position to install Doom 3? If they thought I was qualified for anything, they would've asked me by now. Do YOU think I'm qualified? I sure as taft don't. All I can do is offer moral support, and mention it to the two people I know that like Thief and are the type to keep their computers upgraded.

I'm sorry, GD.

Here's a final clue for the small number of you who still don't get it: Most of the things I, and others here, say about a non-existent game are purely making stuff up for the fun of it, often on the spot, based on ideas in previous posts. I'm responding to the people in these threads MORE THAN from my personal beliefs about a possible future game which is currently not even a tangible reality. We're improvising, playing off of many ideas other fans have posted. And the small group of trollish types are also inspiring. If you don't know that right now I'm reiterating what has already said before in plain English, then you are not paying attention and we'll know it from your ignorant posts. It's offensive, you see, and you should recognise our right to have a natural response to false accusations. You cannot see that you misunderstand our comments, and that your justifications are based on misinterpretation. I do fully expect you to become angry and hostile after we let you know how offended we are because of your libelous claims, which you don't understand are incorrect.

I mean no disrespect to anyone in particular, especially not jtr! My only beef with him is Garrett not being in future titles. Btw, please don't tell jtr to STFU, because if that's what you thought I was doing, yer wrong. I just enjoy keeping him on his toes. :)
