/me reporting in (tl;dr at the bottom);
In anticipation of (
http://www.dust514.com) Dust 514 (I'm an EVE Online player), I today bought a PS3! That's my very first console to own there.
I stood in the shop in the (to me alien) console section, between towers of various console bundles and wasn't really any wiser which one to get. Then I realized I was listening to a catchy tune on the demo screen, which was playing (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy_a3oCDzRA) this.
Back home I looked at some further videos about LBP2 and was convinced (next to finding the (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bfseWNmlds) original of the song) that I wanted this game. And found out there's even a 320GB bundle with it! - Returned to the shop I got (apparently) the last one, which had to be fetched from the window first. So, that is what I just played :cheeky:
tl;dr : I'm playing now Little Big Planet 2, on my first owned console, and I'm loving it :D

Dust 514 will never be released.

So I thought I'd pick up Ultima 7.
The scale is impressive, I've barely explored a fraction of the land. The first few towns and a bit of wilderness. Loads of detail too. And the NPCs all seem quite individual, with their own little stories.
While there is an in-game map, it's too large-scale to be useful and doesn't have my current location. Also I'm feeling the lack of a quest log.
Combat is confusing - people charge around and flail about until something dies. Don't really feel in control.
Also my guys are constantly hungry!
Overall, I have a positive enough impression to stick with it.

Buy a Sextant for your current position. You will then get a plus on the map. No help for the quest log, though, aside from the manual kind.

Yes, you aren't. Just run with it; it's over quickly. Sometimes you may need to pause and use a healing potion on someone or cast a spell on harder foes.

Yes, but larger meals help in this regard. Mutton keeps them fed for a while.

Couple of days with LA Noire and I'm in the midst of Vice cases, while I've enjoyed the game this far it's definitely becoming a teensy bit repetitive in its format - particularly with the innocents doing footchases. The BD stuff was good though it did get a little hammer-horror at the very end.

Trust me, once you get to arson you'll be riveted to your seat. Last few hours of the game are great.

This.
The ending really is the highpoint of the game.

I'm on the Elysian fields case now. It's pretty solid.
One thing that continually impresses is the star power... dude from Fringe just showed up and the fire chief is in Breaking Bad!

Just finished Batman AC. Skipping the sidequests/Catwoman's last bit because I'm honestly fucking burnt out. I wanna play something else now. Just gotta decide what.
