@dethtoll: Performance issues compared to the PS2 or compared to the other HD versions?
Anyway, I'm a bit further now with Arkham City and enjoying it a lot now. The gameplay, world, production values... IMO it's a good example of a game that combines certain old-school values rarely found in AAA titles with the comfort but also the bells and whistles of what the current gen can do. And the graphics and sound are quite brilliant, not just in a 'graphics whore' way. I'm thinking of moments such as traversing the ice in the museum, which pull me in so much more because the ice looks and sounds *real* when I cross it trying not to fall in and become Tiny's lunch.
On the other hand, while I like Bastion I'm not as much in love with it as so many people seemed to be. It's got oodles of charm, but in terms of gameplay I prefer Titan Quest and even Diablo II (as far as I can remember).

Compared to the PS2 -- whenever Volgin's lightning goes off there's framerate problems, as well as certain scenes with lots going on such as the final battle with the Boss. This is among other problems the HD version has, such as the first aid videos degenerating in quality very quickly, the water of the lake at the very end of the game looking like ass...

Hmm... That's a shame, especially after I'd read so often that these were good ports (i.e. not like Resident Evil 4, for instance). Still, at the price I'm definitely picking up the collection, especially considering just how much game there is.
By the way, I can very much recommend Enslaved to anyone who's playing on PS3 and who appreciates good story, writing and acting in their games. In terms of gameplay, it's mediocre, but if you can get it relatively cheap it's well worth checking out.

Yeah, Enslaved has great writing and characters, even if there's not much actual game there.
But on a similar vein, check out Ninja Theory's previous game, Heavenly Sword.
It's a stunning looking game, especially considering it was a near-launch title for the PS3. I actually played it before I played any of the God of War games, so didn't realise exactly how much of a rip-off it is gameplay-wise, but the story and characters, like Enslaved, are brilliant and demonstrate that Ninja Theory are a cut above when it comes to narrative in third-person action games.
Anthony Serkis puts in a fantastic performance as the bad guy, and the main character, Nariko, is exceptionally well performed, with emotions in the vocal performance being effectively displayed by the character model. Her best buddy Kai is also great, but I think the prize goes to the unhinged and creepy Flying Fox as performed by Steven Berkoff.
Well worth checking out if you're a God of War fan, and I still contend that Heavenly Sword has some of the best motion controls ever implemented. The standout being of course the sniping sections, but they also make aerial combos much more interesting and fluid than they ever were in the God of War games.
And that ending. Wow.

I've had Heavenly Sword on order from Amazon for almost a year; not quite sure why it ended up in limbo. In any case, I've now cancelled my regular order and ordered a used copy. Very curious about the game...

I hope the other 2 campaigns are better.
Predator one is definitely worst. In fact only the Marine one is good, Alien makes stealth way too easy.

Cold Fear was literally the first game I played on my Geforce FX 5500.
It was alright.

Dude it was ages ago and that was the best I could afford at the time. The computer that used it doesn't even exist anymore. Get over yourself.
