I picked up a GN Twin, which is a combination Genesis and NES today. The system is very nice and small, reminiscent of the Genesis. The only problem is the sound kinda sucks. I tried running Sonic 1 and 2 and the sound clips/distorts over a composite cable. This is both on my CRT from 2000 and my new HDTV. I hope it doesn't butcher the Streets of Rage 2 soundtrack too much... Also, hopefully my favorite NES games will sound alright. Haven't tried any yet.

The NES sound isn't too bad. It seems to be missing one channel (or it has a limit on simultaneous channels). Noticeable at 2:05.
I have something similar. It runs NES/SNES/Genesis, though. It uses standard RCA (composite) cables, and my sound comes in in stereo and is rather flawless. I just played through the copy of Shadowrun for the SNES that Zerker sold me a while back and Strider for NES. They work great, though the controller is a bit dodgy. It could stand to be a little more responsive, as there is occasionally a decently long delay between pressing the button and seeing the action on-screen, and the buttons are tiny. I have giant 'meat paws' as my girl calls them, and I always gravitate towards mice and controllers that are huge.
I am playing SWAT 4 with the expansion, Stetchkov Syndicate. So far, single-player though I have plenty of exp. playing MP. If anyone is interested in playing online with me, send me a PM.

I've had
Heavenly Sword... ...Very curious about the game...
It's pretty much God of War, with some extra twists. It looks great, has some nice set pieces, one
very cool gameplay mechanic that is used
just the right amount, and has some fabulous voice acting/characters.
Oh, and at times it can be frustratingly hard. I really enjoyed playing it but then it was one of the first games I got on my PS3, and that was the first console I'd ever owned.
I want to play it again but no longer have it.

I still have my 11 year old Pentium 4 machine with its 8 year old FX 5200. I couldn't even afford it at the time, it was a Christmas gift. :D
The only game I've gotten since DE:HR last year is Battlefield 3. I've sunk way too much time into it already.
I also really suck at this game; my kill-death ratio is consistently less than one. I think Left 4 Dead's target rich environments and undead enemies have atrophied my multiplayer reflexes. :bored:

That they made the Predator melee-focused was a truly brilliant move IMO.
Anyway I decided since I and my cranky hand need a break from Minecraft and the PC in general, but I've run out of PS3 games that won't take me forever, I've dragged out my 360 Slim which I bought ages ago but never really put through its paces, and fired up Alan Wake.
I'd forgotten how much I like this game. Looking forward to Night Springs.

Cold Fear was literally the first game I played on my Geforce FX 5500.
It was alright.
I have played it through on PS2, Xbox, and recently on PC. Great game. It was an unabashed RE4 clone, but it was a well executed one. Great location, good old-school survival horror gameplay with a more modern action side of things.
Whatever you game on, there should be a version that will run on it. Not sure if it is backwards compatible.

Oh man, all this love for Cold Fear kinda makes me wish I'd bought it when I saw it going for about 3 bucks on Steam a while back. I did order Shadows of the Damned a few days ago though. That's also a RE4-ish sur-hor-thing.
Anyway I just played the first 2 hours of The Missing Link. I'm on a boat!

SotD isn't really sur-hor. Yes, it's got demons 'n shit (quite literally), but it's just (
http://youtu.be/wdNS_M2d6J0?t=10s) too ludicrous to be scary. FWIW though, I quite enjoyed it when I played it.

Yeah, just because Shinji Mikami worked on it as a producer on it, doesn't mean that it's not a batshit insane Suda51 directed game to its core.
Some people have said that Hideo Kojima is the Stanley Kubrick of gaming. If that's the case, then Goichi Suda would be Werner Herzog.

I totally buy the Stanley Kojima thing.
