Neither did I. Thanks, Dooky. Why not ruin Dark City while you're at it?
The studio did a pretty damn good job of that.
Scene: A field of stars. Vast emptiness. Keifer Sutherland, as Dr. Daniel Schreber, narrates.
Shreber: SO THESE SPACE ALIENS CAME DOWN FROM SPACE AND KIDNAPPED A BUNCH OF PEOPLE TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHY THE WAY WE ARE CUZ THEY'RE DYING OR SOME STUPID BULLSHIT! FUCKING SPACE ALIENS! THEY BUILT THIS CRAZY BULLSHIT CITY AND CHANGE OUR MEMORIES EVERY NIGHT FOR SOME OTHER BULLSHIT REASON, HELL IF I KNOW! BUT SOMETHING WENT WRONG WITH THIS ONE GUY...
Scene: Tocky awakes in a bathtub. He's suffering from amnesia, and apparently killed a prostitute. Again. Damnit, Tocky. Damnit.

Yeah, but the Director's Cut cleans the shit stains off.

Unfortunately, the damage was long since done by the time the directors cut came out. That idiotic opening scene spoiled most of the mystery of the movie for millions of people.
Still a great movie, though.

Playing Serious Sam 3. I will need to wait until tomorrow to continue playing because Croteam rolled out a broken patch earlier today that renders savegames in levels 1, 2, 9 and 12 unusable.
I'm liking the game quite a bit as of level 2, it starts slow with the occasional big showdown (the kamikaze hill in level 1 was pretty intense). But I think they dropped the ball when it comes to sound effects. The pistol sounds pathetic and so do the thuds when you hit level geometry with the sledgehammer. And the Kleers don't clop anymore, their clopping was one of the trademark sounds of Serious Sam for me.

Been played SS3 too and it's terrific. This is probably going to be said, and has probably already been said, a billion times but it's exactly what Duke Nukem Forever* should have been, in that this is how you incorporate some of the new-school into the old-school. Scripting and set-pieces are used sparingly to give a bit of that 'epic' feel but never get in the way of the core gameplay. Despite the "No Cover. All Man" tagline, there are moments where you run from cover to cover like a modern FPS but these are rare and as such, become a nice little change of pace. Even the iron-sights on the assault rifle are welcome; they don't make the gun more accurate, they just let you focus a little better and they're great for picking off the occasional ranged enemy before returning your focus to the charging horde.
Graphically, while it's not going to beat BF3 or anything, it copes with huge viewing distances and many, many enemies while still looking very nice indeed. And for those of you like tweaking your graphics options, there are veritable shit-load of them. The only real negative of the graphics side is the rather awful facial animation in the cut-scenes. The story itself is very silly and amusing. Not all the jokes work but Sam is a lovable lunkhead and bozo stuff like blowing up the Sphinx is, once again, what we should have been seeing in DNF.
* And this is coming from a muppet who actually liked DNF

Just finished the RDR storyline. Excellent, pretty much from start to finish. Especially liked the switch of protagonist to allow you to carry on playing after the end of the story.
Probably going to work on 100% completion (strangers, outfits, ambient challenges) before moving on to something else.

Gave Skyward Sword some more attention this weekend. I still think the controls are absolute shithouse, and unskippable conversations are driving me batshit, but it's a good game. Nowhere near perfect mind you, and very formulaic, no matter all the pre-release stuff about veering away from the tried and tested Zelda formula.
Saints Row The Third should really be getting more of my game time, as the little I'm playing of it at the moment is excellent (usually an hour or so in the morning before work). And Volition really have delivered an experience that feels tailored for the PC, with little touches like instantly skippable intro movies and seamless transition between gamepad and keyboard & mouse being perfectly implemented.
I just did my first Tiger Escort, and while it's not gut-rippingly hilarious, it still had me chuckling.
Although Zimos is so far the standout character :)
I gave Batman Arkham City a quick look after finishing the download on Friday, although I'm suffering from the same graphical hitching as reported widely elsewhere, so I'm gonna wait for the patch before continuing.
I've still got Bastion waiting in my Steam list, along with Dungeons and gods know how many other things vying for my attention. And then there's the new Assassin's Creed coming to PC soon.
On top of all that, Age of Conan is still occupying the majority of my gaming time. I may have to force myself to give it a break soon. Maybe whack all my characters on a really long training schedule and drop it for a bit. But DAMN, is it good at what it does. If you're looking for an MMO at the moment, give it a whirl. Free to Play in AoC is pretty generous giving you access to one type of each class and the full level range.
For the first time in a long time, I feel like I've got games enough to last me for a significant amount of time, so I'm probably going to stop buying them for a while.

A while ago I got Modern Warfare 2 on Steam, because it was cheap and I really enjoyed the first game. (I'd still maintain it's much more clever than it's usually given credit for.) This one definitely lacks something the first game had, even if it looks very similar on the surface. Is it just that it's same old, same old? Or is it the worse pacing? I just got to the "Wolverines!" bit and I'm already ready for it to be over.
