I was really looking forward to this but now I've seen the demos and the tech facts I'm not so sure. If the precision is high (its pretty bad on the Wii) then it could be useful but its got to be very, very precise.

If it is really precise is would be cool, I like playing fps with the wii-mote and the difference in graphics is starting to hurt a little. But I can't see this working they kinda are making a fool out of themselves, presenting a 2(?) year old idea and presenting it with the usual hyperbole they would beat Steve Jobs with that guru crap.
This article is a little peripheral, but it is one insight into Sony's corporate culture, and guesses at why they brazenly expect the great unwashed minions to embrace their latest gadget... which they then proceed to fuck up.

Those expensive neon lightbulbs look horrible.
Jackablade on 13/3/2010 at 20:58
It's silly looking but I like it. I need more colourful neon balls in my life.

And apparently the ball changes colour depending on your environment. Since it would be difficult to see a green ball against a green wall, you'd probably get red or something (if your wall was green, that is).

who in their right mind would paint a wall green?

A hospital in the 50's.

Green is often thought to be a calming, soothing colour, and lighter shades can make the room seem larger.

Surprisingly, several jails and prisons use pink. Some use it specifically in the "Hole" or in the areas with psychiatrically challenged inmates. The explanation I heard was that it was soothing and/or resembled the womb.
