NTEX high-res texture pack version 1.3 for Thief 2 (and normal texture version 1.12) - by thief_gotcha

I don't have webspace for that and there are more things to istall than only the extures (also a file with links that ddfix.dl reads). But if you install it you have all the textures, you can still not use them by just copying darkinst.ntex back to darkinst.cfg and deleting. ntedds.crf if you want.

Could you put up a standard zip or rar archive in addition to the installer? :thumb:
I 2nd that - manual version would be very welcome as I tend to hate installers (unless absolutely necessary/unavoidable). Of course, I talk about final/stable version of your pack, thief_gotcha (not these WIP snapshots).
@thief_gotcha: could you describe what the installer does (what modifications and where it performs etc)?

@thief_gotcha:
(quick bug report): installer is buggy for me - it always writes files to root of c: drive - not T2 root dir, no matter what I choose as T2 root dir in the dialog.
darkinst.cfg also does NOT get modified as it should (even though I placed it in root of c: drive) - I suppose it's related to path bug.
Nevertheless I got your HR pack to work manually and I must say it looks gorgeous - waiting for subsequent versions with even more textures replaced :thumb:.

thanks hiatus, I try to get the install dir from the registry install, but there isn't an entry for that so I got it from the uninstall string. Guess that doesn't work. I have a number of extra textures and going to make an update anyway, guess the dir has to be put in manually...

I don't think I have uninstall string in registry for T2 (I keep Thief installation between Windows reinstalls) so that may be the reason. Still, the installer doesn't seem to react to me pointing to T2 root dir manually and insists on dumping its files into root of c: drive (system partition). Though it creates backup dir structure in T2 dir (not on c: ) so that is done ok.

I think, this should be better. ;)

Installer screwy for me too. I just moved darkinst.cfg and moved back all the folders manually afterwards. Worked fine then.
Nice work! :thumb:

timeslip, if you read this,
just trying out your ddfix version 1.3.10. It seems that now textures a bit farther away take some time to render, they stay a tan colour unless I get closer. I can't remember the earlier version doing that (but I may be wrong)?
and a second question, if you fixed the direction of the rendering for tga, its no use for me to provide dds textures actually... the mipmaps are then created in-game?
thanks
