Hello
I installed the ntexdds13 and most of Thief 2 is great. But when i play the missions "Eavesdropping & Trail of Blood" i get white textures in the distance, when i get closer the textures turn into their respctive replced textures.in Evesdropping they are gravel outside the Mechanist seminary, and inTrail of Blood it is the grass in the Village before the Maw of chaos is where i am seeing the white textures.I am using DDfix 1.3.11.0.Thanks for looking.

Would you mind if I included some of the textures from this pack in the next version of the Thief EP?
I'm thinking of including some DDFix high-res terrain textures there, and some of these textures would fit beautifully.
I've said before that I think some of the textures here are too different from the originals to really count as drop-in replacements, which is why I'm only interested in some of the textures, not the entire package. The EP was always supposed to stick as true to the original designs as possible.

Of course, this is a good idea. :)

I recently checked this package, too, and basically I like it. But I feel like it still needs some improvement. Many of the textures have an ugly sharpness effect and there are also some that don't even tile correctly. Let's see if I can get permission to create an expansion to the NTEX expansion. ;)

Both an update and use of parts of this pack in Thief EP are something the majority of Thief players approve i think, but we must keep in mind that thief_gotcha has been absent for more than two years and getting permission for both will probably be impossible. Still, i can't really see most modders saying no if someone wants to update/use something they haven't touched in more than two years. Especially if due credit is given where needed.

This is a
high-res dds version with 512x512 textures for Thief 2, for those who use Timeslips ddfix.dll (version 1.3.9 or later) (see (
http://timeslip.chorrol.com)).
Get it here (78 MBytes): (
http://rapidshare.com/files/114458604/ntexdds13.exe.html) ntexdds13.exe
(This pack is being uploaded regularly to (
http://www.southquarter.com/tools/) thanks to Brethren)
this is an installer that puts the files ion the right place and adjusts your darkinst.cfg. Let me know if it works. There is no uninstall for now, you just delete the files. There are
136 textures in this pack and more being added.
This is a work in progress. I may switch to tga files later because that takes up less space for the download package. After installing your darkinst.cfg should look something like this:
cd_path .\
install_path .\
language english
resname_base .\NTEXdds+.\res
load_path .\
script_module_path .\
movie_path .\movies
Of course you are welcome to use them in fan missions if you want.
Many of them are based on the (
http://www.cgtextures.com/) site, also own photographs and other web resources.
Work on the old pcx file package has stoppedDownload here version
1.12 : (
http://home.planet.nl/~ek000114/gotcha/download/NTEX.zip) NTEX.zip
Numer of replaced textures: 256 :D
Unzip this file in your thief2 directory (mine is c:\gms\thief2) and add the reference in your darkinst.cfg, so you have ntex.crf in your directory. Then delete the file ntex.zip. In fact your darkinst.cfg can look like this:
cd_path .\
install_path .\
language english
resname_base .\EP+.\NTEX+.\res
load_path .\
script_module_path .\
movie_path .\movies

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/4962/citynewzj3.jpg Hi. I would like to try the texture pack but first I have some questions. The title says NTEX high-res texture pack version 1.3 for Thief 2 (and normal texture version 1.12) . What is the difference between version 1.3 and 1.12 ? I think that 1.12 is a newer version, I saw that has more textures replaced, 256. But at version 1.12 it says "normal texture version'' What this means ? And at 1.3 version says NTEX high res textures pack version 1.3. Also the 1.12 version is 4 MB. 1.3 version is 70 MB. Why is the 1.12 version so small ?

I have the same questions:
1) What's the diffrence?
2) How can I be sure, that I have the v1.3 on my computer?
3) How can I check it or compare with the old ones?
4) Can the "normall" and "high res" work together?
BTW:
- The v1.12 pack works without any problems. If I deactivate it (delete the NTEX.crf in Darkinstall.cfg) I see the original textures.
- The v1.3 pack dosen't work. If I activate it (Darkinstall.cfg), I don't see the high resolution textures. What's wrong?

Hi. Do you also use The Enhancement Pack ? Or just NTEX ?
