I thought this was pretty amazing. There's lots to draw from in inspiration and architectural reference. Also being public domain you can use the paintings. The sad thing is, the site is not easy to use but still, a high rez treasure-trove.

EDIT 2: Friendly note, if looking by genre the largest deposit of book cover, back and spines are under "Unknown"
Speaking of delicious, if you go by genre, there are some pretty cool restaurant menus from 1900s. Weird items sometimes.
