Excellent, you guys rock!

Now that that solution's been mentioned, I'd like to suggest another:
Don't flood your obj folder with lots of bin files unless you are definitely going to use them. I.e. prevention is better than cure.
If your mission can access another source of resources (e.g. via adding another path in Darkinst.cfg), keep a list of which objects you use and keep it updated.

Sometimes, closing DromEd is not enough, and you have to logoff and log back on to free up the directory.
That's why I love (
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) Unlocker - right-click on any file or folder that's in use, hit "unlock" and you can forcibly remove all locks on the file or folder, allowing you to move, rename, modify or delete it in peace.

R: Good advice. I do that with my own missions, but have 1,034 bins to sort through for HI.
NV: Very useful, thanks.

Unfortunately for me:

Does unlocker work on Windows XP 64 or Vista 64? Not yet, I am working on it.
Edit: (
http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/#download) Unlocker 1.9.1 is now available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Bah, let's hope he finishes it... I've got 64bit as well.

Is there a way of using chkmissnv to scan for unused AIs in Mesh?
also, what does the warning "The following objects have auxiliary schemas defined, but are not environmental ambients:" mean? Why should I care?

Edit:
Also is there a simple way to id the textures used by the objects listed in the objects report? That's what BinSkinsCSV does, but you have to remove everything that is not on the output from chkmissnv first. Still no way to id the bookart or the meshes used ...
