Papier mache is actually the mainstay construction material in a good majority of the video game universes (universi?) out there. I mean how else could a hundred foot tall robot manage to blast itself along at 500kph or maintain a consistant hover without touching the ground? And gold, if gold wasn't actually just spray painted papier mache there'd be no way that we could carry around millions of 1cm^3 pieces of gold without being crushed. Armor and such, especially the kind that ninjas wear: all papier mache. Hell Battle Engine Aquilia even taught us that some kinds of papier mache are highly reactive with water and will explode readily, but the structural integrity to weight ratios are so good that it's worth building your ultimate assault weapon out of the stuff even 97% of the planet is covered in water, just so you can get a meager 150 secs of flight time out of the contraption.
Yeah. It's that good.

Haha that's great.

Well maybe not a ban, but along those lines. They bumped it up to an M for mature when they found out about the boobies that can be accessed through modding on the PC version. It's especially funny how they claim it's also because of the excessive violence, but then they end up only banning the version that has the boob potential.
I am getting sick to death of this kind of attitude in the ratings boards and the government in general. I realize the ESRB is only doing this to cover their asses when Hilary comes a knockin', but this is just stupid. The nudity is only accessible through
3rd party modifications! It is necessary to apply an after market mod to see anything! In the film industry this is like changing the rating of a movie based on photoshopped nude images of the stars appearing on the web! Only even that is not as bad, since you don't need to buy the whole film to see them.
I'm also sick of them being more offended by the nudity than the violence, but that's a whole other battle...

Just another example of humanity's infinite stupidity. You can kill practically everyone in that game, but only up until we start seeing bare mammaries that have to be unlocked with the use of 3rd-party mods do they notch up the rating.
Add me to the list of people who are pissed about the ESRB and unattentive parents considering something as minor as a pair of naked breasts worse than any violence. Sure, sex can go way too far, but it's not much compared to those who murder in the most grisly ways possible.
Hell, why don't we up the ratings of Morrowind as well? Or even games like Quake and Unreal that have nude skins?
It's just skin, people. Just because someone glimpses a teat doesn't mean they're going to turn into sex-crazed rapists or anything like that...then again, humanity's pretty fucked up like that.
...Okay, so I basically re-iterated my points over and over. But I'm PISSED!

Oh ESRB. I think that's the most pathetic thing I have heard all year.

They like to feel important. They're like Mall Security guards.
PeeperStorm on 4/5/2006 at 02:05
The ESRB raised the rating to "M"! It's the end of the world!
